Palakkadan Matta is a variety of red rice indigeneous to the Pallakad district of Kerala. This rice is highly nutritious with high fiber, low glycemic index , antioxidants and B vitamins. This rice is beneficial for diabetic and cholesterol patients and helps in lowering obesity.
Our red rice powder is produced traditionally by first rinsing the rice with water, followed by a process of natural drying. It is then finely ground and roasted to give you the best in class rice powder. We primarily use Chenkazhama red rice for making our powder as it has the highest amylose content which helps in controlling blood sugar in regular consumption.
This powder can be used in the preparation of a wide variety of popular snacks and meals like murruku, appams, idiappams, pottu, pancakes, buiscuits, cakes, breads, soups, stews, chappattis, rice noodles, etc.
